Job Description

What they will be doing/ working on:

This person will be working on electro-mechanical systems, helping to design, test, troubleshoot, and assemble prototype electronic circuits and specialized test equipment. They will work with both hardware and software tools (like oscilloscopes and signal generators) to diagnose and fix issues in electrical and mechanical components.

They will also:

  • Assemble and test electronic circuits (analog, digital, and video-based).
  • Identify and fix malfunctions in electronic systems.
  • Perform advanced electrical diagnostics on components and subassemblies.
  • Mentor and guide junior technicians, checking their work for quality.
  • Find alternative components for obsolete parts.
  • Use soldering skills to repair and modify circuits.

This role is hands-on and requires strong troubleshooting, assembly, and testing skills for electronic hardware.

What You’ll Do

  • Assemble and test prototype electronics and systems (analog, digital, video, logic).
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and fix issues down to the component level.
  • Use tools like oscilloscopes, signal generators, and test software to validate performance.
  • Help build and check out custom test setups and experimental equipment.
  • Collaborate with engineers and other techs to improve designs and solve technical problems.
  • Mentor junior technicians and perform quality checks before final testing.

What You Bring

  • Strong hands-on skills with electrical and mechanical assembly.
  • Experience reading schematics and circuit diagrams.
  • Advanced troubleshooting and soldering (through-hole and surface-mount).
  • Ability to find replacement components for outdated parts.
  • Comfortable working with minimal instruction and taking initiative.
  • Clear communication skills for working with cross-functional teams.

Your Background

  • 2-year degree in Electronics Technology (required)
  • 4-year degree (preferred)
  • 7–10 years of relevant experience
